Transnet

Cape Town

November 2018 – January 2019 (Design and specification only)

    • Ships weighing up to 700 Tons  are hoisted with the Synchrolift at Cape Town Harbour out of the water for maintenance of the ships typically every 5 years. The rails which are used to transfer the ships on land are in need of repairs. Replacement of the rails and improving the durability of the rail connecting mechanism at the transfer location where the Synchrolift connects to the fixed rails is necessary. Improving the drainage of the concrete slabs in the parking bay area’s is also an outcome of this project.
